TDCJ marriages resumed May 17th

TDCJ cancelled visitation and marriages March 13, 2020 due to COVID.  Revised visitation started March 15, 2021 and finally after 14 months of waiting, the TDCJ marriage process resumed May 17th.

It's been a year and more for many of our clients so here's a brief recap of what is needed.

Make sure that you have a valid ID or copy of your Loved Ones TDCJ ID card; their birth certificate will work for Bell, Bexar and Harris County.  IF you don't, they should submit an I-60 to the Law Library to get a copy of their TDCJ ID card 'for marriage purposes'.  This is the longest process and can take 3-6 weeks.

Make sure that your Loved One has the Affidavit of Absent Applicant from the county where you will get the license, usually your home county.  When they get a lay in for the ID card, they can get this notarized and sent to you along with the copy of their ID card.   If you already have the copy, they can submit another I60 to the Law Library to get the affidavit notarized and sent to you.

Once these are done, he should be able to start the actual marriage process.

Marriage license can be bought at any Texas county clerk and used anywhere in Texas.  Check with your local county, or county of your choice, to see if they have COVID guidelines in place.

You are welcome to call or text me at 281-399-9999.  Monday and Friday are workdays for me and cannot have calls.  Will try to reply when message is received if and when I can or after 6pm.  We look forward to hearing from you and meeting you both soon.

TDCJ Boyd Ceremony by Texas Prison Weddings

Paul & Jenny
October 11, 2018
TDCJ Boyd

Jenny and I had fun at a road side park taking special pictures for her wedding memories.

Jenny will also have her #TPWkeepsakes to help preserve the memories for years to come.

The cruise type mural at the Boyd seemed to take us away for the moment.  Almost like Paul and Jenny were the only ones there.

Bashful Bride at TDCJ Michael Wedding

Israel and Aurora
July 24, 2018
TDCJ Michael Unit

Aurora and I met early at the corner store in Tennessee Colony.  We discussed the ceremony and what to expect before going to the unit.

During the ceremony, Aurora would back away from the window.   A chair was placed behind her which didn't help. Ms Smith placed Aurora's hand on the window to help steady her and 'keep her in place'.   Israel and Aurora shared their vows or at least he did.  She was soo nervous, her whole body trembled.   If ever there was a bashful bride, Aurora took first place.
